Food & Travel

I recently returned from an incredible weekend at the Las Vegas Grand Prix, marking my second year attending—and it was nothing short of phenomenal! Now, I’m usually not the biggest Vegas enthusiast—I don’t drink, and gambling just isn’t my thing—but this trip completely changed my perception. Between the excitement of the Grand Prix events and the comforts of our resort, we had a spectacular time!

As a passionate racing fan, the Grand Prix itself was undoubtedly the highlight and primary reason for our visit. But let’s talk accommodations—I wanted something special this time, and there’s nothing quite like staying in a brand-new hotel, right? So, we chose the Fontainebleau, the sparkling new gem on the strip, and it did not disappoint.

Stepping into the Fontainebleau felt like entering a chic, modern oasis. My kids were immediately thrilled by the hotel’s interactive art installations—talk about keeping the little ones entertained! The lobby area was impressively spacious, complete with a fantastic food court offering numerous tasty options. Speaking of food, the resort hosts several amazing restaurants, but Mother Wolf stole my heart (and stomach!). Picture authentic Italian cuisine served in a stylish, luxurious setting—truly a delight.

Additionally, the resort provided thoughtful conveniences like an onsite grocery store—perfect for grabbing snacks or essentials—and several charming coffee spots for that early-morning caffeine boost. And for those who love to shop, a few trendy new clothing boutiques recently opened their doors.

Although November weather kept us from enjoying the pool, it looked incredibly inviting. The adjacent beach club featured some exciting headliner events, making me promise myself a summer return trip! The hotel’s spa also deserves a special mention—it was pristine, beautifully designed, and surprisingly affordable. Exactly what you’d hope for in a relaxing getaway.

Now onto our rooms—spacious, sophisticated, and equipped with enormous windows offering stunning views. The layout of the bathrooms was impressively thoughtful, with separate private spaces for the shower and toilet. This design was a real game-changer for our family, allowing multiple people to comfortably use the facilities at once without feeling cramped.

Another standout was the prompt room service—food arrived quickly and was actually hot, a refreshing improvement compared to past experiences at other strip hotels. Additionally, the rooms featured advanced technology, providing convenience that set the Fontainebleau apart from older establishments nearby.

Location-wise, while Fontainebleau is a bit further down the strip, it was conveniently within walking distance to other major resorts and attractions. Plus, being directly across from Circus Circus meant effortless entertainment for the kids—they enjoyed popping over to play games before heading to the races.

Perhaps the most delightful surprise was how exclusive and peaceful the resort felt compared to the hustle and bustle of the main strip. After a busy day amid the lively Grand Prix crowds, returning to the calm and comfort of Fontainebleau felt like stepping into another world—an oasis amidst Vegas’s iconic energy.

Oh, and did I mention we had the fantastic luck of bumping into some of the Grand Prix drivers who were also staying at our hotel? Talk about icing on the cake!

Overall, Fontainebleau enhanced our Las Vegas experience significantly, blending excitement, relaxation, and luxury seamlessly. I can’t wait to return next year—maybe we’ll finally enjoy that pool!
